Legal issues involving family are inherently extremely emotional.   Not only are the issues close to home, but the parties involved have often suffered a recent emotional trauma.  To make matters worse, the law is far from perfect, and often not fair.  

 

Family LawThe past three years have brought extensive changes to the areas of divorce, child support, alimony and relocation.  Issues that seemed to be resolved are now open to new legal arguments and more litigation.


Judges work hard to do the right thing, but they are often constrained by the law in what they can do.   Quite often, issues that are very important to a litigant are not legally significant to a case, and may not even be able to be considered at all by a  judge.
